Transportation
Priority is given to physician and medical related appointments and grocery shopping. Other
appointments--for example, banking or the beauty shop appointments--will be taken if volunteers are available. Transportation
is intended for the Bloomington-Normal area only. We cannot transport
people confined to a wheelchair; those needing wheelchair transport
should contact the Bloomington-Normal Special Services. Care
receivers may call the Faith in Action office at least
3 days before a ride is needed. Multiple
stops may be allowed if the volunteer is available and willing. Those
will be assessed based on individual needs. [top]

unpack your groceries or items if you ask. Shopping trips can be
scheduled on a regular basis. [top]

Friendly Home Visits
A volunteer or volunteer team of two is matched with a care

Home Repair and Maintenance
Volunteers can help with small household repairs, yard work, and other small household jobs NOT requiring a permit.
Outdoor tasks include raking leaves, snow shoveling, cleaning
gutters, trimming bushes and shrubs. Indoor tasks include light
painting, window washing on the first floor, replacing light bulbs and
smoke detector batteries, and organizing closets. At
least 7 to 10 days notice is necessary for these tasks. Each request is
reviewed and evaluated--requests deemed appropriate will be scheduled.
Care
receivers are responsible for the cost of supplies. Tools needed can
either be supplied by you or volunteers can bring their own tools.
