Blessings for volunteers

As you use your talents to bless others, you receive blessings from the care receivers and their families as you connect with them. See more about services we provide and who we are.

It is your choice how and when to serve. Volunteers receive orientation and training plus ongoing updates. You also are provided auxiliary insurance coverage, a name badge, and an optional FIA placard for the dash of your vehicle. Assistance and support for volunteers is a top priority. You are invited to educational and fun events such as the annual Volunteer Blessing Service and Appreciation Dinner and the quarterly volunteer coffees.

Requirements

  • Anyone 18 or older can serve alone. For those under 18, adult supervision is requested.

  • Complete the 2 hour volunteer orientation session

  • Complete a volunteer application, including 2 names and phone numbers of references

  • Provide copies of driver's license and auto insurance card (if you will want to be a transportation volunteer).

Commitment

  • Respect the rights and lives of the seniors we serve

  • Honor the relationship entrusted to you.

  • Appreciate the diversity of faith communities involved in Faith in Action.

State Farm employee or retiree? If so, your volunteer hours can earn $500 for Faith in Action.

"I am so grateful for all the assistance your organization has given me over the past several months: at least fifteen trips to therapy sessions and doctor appointments. I have “graduated” from a walker to a cane so have made remarkable progress since my fall last year. Thanks again to you, your fine staff, and drivers. Commendable volunteers!”
