Darla Heath

Executive Director

Darla Heath started as Executive Director of Faith in Action in January 2023. Before becoming the director, she served on the board of directors beginning in 2019. As director, it is her responsibility to ensure Faith in Action realizes its mission by overseeing financial management, strategic direction, fundraising, and marketing. She enjoys reading, making ceramics, and watching backyard birds in her spare time. Spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren is a priority for her.

David Nybakke

Office Manager

David Nybakke began working at Faith in Action in 2009. As the Office Manager, David oversees the scheduling software program that enables volunteers to select ride opportunities from home, along with scheduling of office volunteers, and some bookkeeping. David works part-time through the week. When not in the office David enjoys reading, taking walks on the trail, and going to movies.

Lisa Majernik

Development Manager

Lisa Majernik began working at Faith in Action in 2023. In her role as Development Manager, she oversees the mum sale, Take Action Luncheon, Mardi Gras Bingo Bonanza and other fundraising efforts. She also manages faith in Action’s website and social media. Lisa works part-time and is available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. When not at the office she enjoys baking cookies, reading and going on walks with her family.

Stacey Bill

Volunteer Coordinator

Stacey Bill oversees volunteer recruitment, training and events as the Volunteer Coordinator.  She is in the office part-time and is available Monday through Wednesday as well as Friday.  Stacey collaborates with her officemate, Mary Idleman, to care for FIA’s many volunteers.  Stacey enjoys spotting wildlife, walking the trail and learning about Illinois history.

Mary Idleman

Assistant Volunteer Coordinator/Bus Trip Manager

Mary Idleman has been a part of Faith in Action since 2016.  She started volunteering at the Transportation Desk, but has had many different volunteer roles including driving Care Receivers, Board Member, and as Assessment Volunteer. From 2019 – 2022 Mary served as the Volunteer Coordinator for Faith in Action before moving to the Assistant Volunteer Coordinator.  Mary also serves as the Bus Trip manager for Faith in Action.  She works part-time and is generally in the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  A former dietitian and food service director, Mary enjoys cooking and baking with her grandsons.

Carolyn Wetzel

Care Receiver Coordinator

Carolyn Wetzel began her second tour of duty with Faith in Action in 2022.  She served for over three years starting in 2012 as Faith in Action’s first Volunteer Coordinator.   After retiring from the Area Agency on Aging, she returned as FIA’s Care Receiver Coordinator.  She coordinates the onboarding of new care receivers as well as the ongoing surveying of care receivers.  She is in the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays.   When not at the office, she enjoys playing violin in a local orchestra and playing board games and pickle ball with her family.
