Position Summary

Responsible for developing, planning, organizing, creating/directing fundraisers and special events, such as 20 Over 60, Take Action Luncheon, Mardi Gras BINGO, and Mum Sale.  Be the face of Faith in Action in the community, including Chamber events, Senior Care Network events, Health Fairs, and Senior events. Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing and future sponsors. Participate in the Fund Development Committee and Marketing committees of the board of directors related to marketing and events.

Position Type:  Hourly      Reports To: Executive Director   Hours:  24 hours /week

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan a yearly fundraising calendar, striving to create a year-round, varied approach.
  • Organize all fundraising events
  • Freshen existing fundraisers as needed and create new fundraisers as needed.
  • Maintain and grow relationships with existing sponsors and develop relationships with potential sponsors
  • Plan special donor events and campaigns
  • Create PowerPoint presentations and other communications as needed.
  • Develop partnerships with local faith communities for both volunteer recruitment and organizational visibility.
  • Assist with grant writing as needed.
  • Work with volunteers, staff, and business professionals to support office and administrative tasks.
  • Attend BNFIA  sponsored events as needed.
  • Flex to cover other office staff as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to develop rapport with a diverse number of individuals.
  • Ability to work with individuals with different interests and opinions and to build effective teams in a volunteer environment.
  • Ability to speak knowledgeably and enthusiastically about the BNFIA mission, programs, initiatives and articulate how volunteers and the work they do makes a difference.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to supporting new technology implementations.
  • Must be available to work some weekends and evenings as required for events.
  • College degree or relevant development experience preferred.
