Tallulah Gill from Illinois State University

Welcome Tallulah Gill
from Illinois State University

Our Spring 2019 Intern is a Sociology Major with a Gerontology Minor.
I started out by attending a volunteer orientation.

What are your career goals?
I would love to develop and implement programs for community members with the goal of age integration.  I am also interested in a role that allows me to organize more fulfilling, engaging activities for older adults residing in assisted living or nursing facilities.
Why did you choose Faith in Action over other internship options? Dr. Wellin explained to me that one of FIA’s primary goals is to combat the social isolation that often befalls our community’s older adults.  This is such an admirable and necessary task, and I would love to learn about the ways in which it is accomplished and to contribute in any way that I can.

What are your goals for this internship? As stated above, I’d like to learn about the ways in which FIA combats social isolation among older adults in our community.  I am also hoping to become familiar with the ways in which a non-profit organization functions, as well as to gain some hands-on experience in a work environment that allows me to apply some of the subject matter I’ve studied in courses to real-world situations.
